Megan & Collin | Utah Winter Cactus & Tropicals Wedding
Megan and Colin chose a cold Utah winter evening in January for their wedding proceedings. The snowy day turned out perfect for hosting a wedding at Cactus & Tropicals in Draper, Utah. The place was decked out in florals and greenery, of course, but the whole ambiance of the greenhouse with garden lights and fountains was so perfect. I enjoyed every bit of the day with the couple who have amazing plans laid out for their life together: he is a mechanical engineer in Detroit, she is an archaeologist in Romania (for part of the year). Megan lived for a time in England and so they incorporated a fun English tradition into their wedding of “cutting the cheese” with a cheese cake made of cheese wheels. It was such a fun addition to the couple’s roasts and toasts offered by their friends and family – who doesn’t love a little cheese with their wine and champagne? Before cutting their real cake, Collin surprised Megan with a gift of journals in which he wrote letters to her while she was overseas working. It was an amazing gift and I’m sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the place! Dancing, dinner, and the after-party were a hit, followed by a sparkler exit. The couple out-sparkled all of the decor and lights; it was surely an evening to remember.
Congratulations to the new Mister and Missus!
